Swiss insurance company Zurich is buying a portion of Motorola Solutions’ campus in Schaumburg to build its new North American headquarters, the two companies said Thursday.
Zurich already bases its office for the region in Schaumburg, where it employs about 2,500 people. It also has a downtown Chicago office. The company is buying more than 30 acres of land from Schaumburg-based Motorola Solutions, representing about 10 percent of the technology company’s 324 acres at Meacham Road and I-90. Zurich said it plans to relocate its suburban employees to the new headquarters by the fall of 2016.
