State-of-the-Art Technology Helps Force Lead the Way

ARTEMIS is being fitted to 370 cars across the Northamptonshire Police fleet, with over 270 vehicles having passed through the workshop already and this is allowing the Force to realise cashable savings and business benefits, quickly.
Over 120 people attended an Open Day held at Northamptonshire Force HQ on Wednesday 25th September. This included over 30 Police Forces that were interested in the pioneering technology that is seeing Northants benefit from fuel savings of 19%.
Northants Police and Crime Commissioner Adam Simmonds welcomed visitors to the open day and supported the adoption of this new technology by the force: “This is very good news for the police in Northamptonshire and potentially for forces across the country”. “We have to find considerable savings in the policing budget in the years ahead and this new vehicle technology is a great example of how we need to be working more effectively and efficiently”.
In addition to the positive savings on fuel, there are already early signs of reduction in tyre wear and being able to move vehicles across divisions where they are not being used effectively. The solution is available on a National Framework which in itself helps forces to realise savings immediately.
