The New Year brings a new home for Sepura

Sepura, a global leader in critical communications solutions, will be moving to new premises with effect from January 2016.

The company will relocate to ‘Building 9000’ – purpose-designed facilities on the Cambridge Research Park in Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire.

Historically, Sepura has operated from Radio House in Central Cambridge, a building once occupied by Pye Telecom. However, lack of space in which to expand has resulted in the consolidation of the company’s UK operations to Building 9000.

Sepura has signed a 15-year lease for the 64,000 sq ft site, which has been completely refurbished following a detailed design phase. The building accommodates new R&D facilities, high quality offices, state-of-the-art meeting and collaboration spaces – enabled with interactive and remote conferencing technology, a product demonstration suite and testing chambers. All of these facilities will enhance current work processes, allowing the organisation to work faster with increased agility.

Sepura has expanded significantly in recent years, acquiring Austrian TETRA infrastructure supplier 3T Communications in 2012; Finnish applications developer Portalify in 2013; UK-based Fylde Micro Ltd, leaders in radio trunking solutions, in 2014; and Teltronic, a Spanish Professional Mobile Radio company, in 2015.

“This is a significant step for the Sepura Group,” said Gordon Watling, Sepura’s CEO. “Globally, our employee total has more than doubled over the last four years and we are delighted to be moving to a highly cost-effective, tailor-made workspace that reflects our growth and ambition.

“The move demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Cambridge area; it is an investment that will deliver a modern environment for employees, and even higher levels of innovation, efficiency and service for our customers and partners.

“Building 9000 will provide the capacity for further growth over the next 15 years and has presented Sepura with the opportunity to design the layout to enhance teamwork and in-house communication, streamline processes and increase productivity, utilising modern ways of working.

“In addition, these cutting-edge premises will help us to attract and retain the high calibre of talent we need to fulfil our goals and maintain our leading status in the global critical communications market.”
