Due to its strategic border location and having the risk of being impacted by natural disasters like El Niño, the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes decided to deploy a reliable and secure integrated communication system based on TETRA technology.

Hytera Mobilfunk Sucursal del Peru has been chosen to implement an ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA system and an Emergency Control Center for the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes.

The city of Tumbes is the capital of the province and department of the same name, and is located in the northern Peruvian coast, only 30 km from the Ecuadorian border. The Tumbes Region is bordered by the Ecuadorian provinces of El Oro and Loja on the east; Peru's Piura Region on the south; and by the Pacific Ocean on the north and west.

Due to its strategic border location and having the risk of being impacted by natural disasters like El Niño, the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes decided to deploy a reliable and secure integrated communication system based on TETRA technology.

“Consorcio Jerusalen”, prime contractor to deploy the security plan for the Provincial Municipality of Tumbes, has selected Proyectcom SAC / Hytera Mobilfunk to implement an ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA Trunking system and an integrated Emergency Control Center.

The different organizations of Tumbes will be equipped with PT580H TETRA handhelds and MT680 TETRA mobile radios. In addition, five Fast Relief Security Centers will be equipped with MT680B TETRA fixed stations.

Antonio Garandillas, Gerente de Seguridad Ciudadana commented: “This is a very good start. Everything indicates that Tumbes will be equipped with the best security technology within the first month of 2016.”

This new project consolidates Hytera Mobilfunk´s position as the leader supplier of public safety professional mobile radio communication systems in the Peruvian market with customers like the Ministry of Interior, National Police and the Ministry of Economy and Finance between others.
