ASTRID TETRA Radio Coverage for European Union HQ
ASTRID, the operator for the Public Safety Network in Belgium announced earlier this year that the Justus Lipsius building in the European district of Brussels received TETRA radio coverage.
The Council of the European Union, which is based in the Justus Lipsius building, already used its own TETRA radio network to support communications for its internal technical services.
Through shared infrastructure such as repeaters and radiating cables it is now possible to use both the ASTRID network and the network of the Council of the European Union together.
ASTRID and technical supplier SAIT has achieved ASTRID radio coverage within the building complex and in the underground parking garage.
The emergency and security services that are active for interventions or special assignments will benefit from the radio coverage, especially during the European summits.
