Mongstad is an industrial site in Hordaland county, Norway. The site features an oil refinery for Statoil and other oil companies, including Shell. Mongstad is Europe's second largest oil and product port, the largest port in terms of tonnage.

In Norway, the state has built Nødnett to ensure that emergency services and others who have a role in rescue, emergency and crisis management can communicate.

It was just a matter of time beore Statoil Mongstad would start to use the Notnett TETRA network. For Statoil Mongstad, direct communication allows for better understanding during an unexpected event. Furthermore, the network allows better coordination with emergency services, which is essential in times of preparedness and during a crisis situation.

Around 80 new actors are now included, as well as players with ties to health services, fire departments and police.
