Sons and Daughters of Caribbean Police Officers Have Their Educational Dreams Come True as Motorola Solutions Foundation shows commitment to Caribbean region, once again supporting Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) with Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund in its eighth year.
The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI), is awarding 10 news scholarships as part of its ACCP-Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund, making a total of more than 70 scholarships granted since its inception.
The scholarships provides Caribbean children with resources to continue their college or university studies in the targeted fields of study include engineering, communications, marketing, finance, industrial engineering, human resource management, criminology, and forensic science. These disciplines, said ACCP officials, are essential for the proper functioning of the day-to-day operations of police organizations and communities in general.
The ACCP and Motorola Solutions Foundation have worked together to assist the police in each of the member countries in the promotion and support of youth and community development programs.
“Over the years, we have seen how the ACCP-Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund program has helped the children of our police officers gain better access to education. The Foundation's commitment to the scholarship program year after year encourages us to continue working on our mission to protect the citizens of the 25 Caribbean islands that our organization serves,” said Michael DeSilva, Commissioner of the Bermuda Police Service and president of the ACCP.
The winners will be able to continue their education at certified colleges or universities, either in the Caribbean or at colleges or universities that are associated with the member countries. This includes Universities/Colleges in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States and the Netherlands.
“The Motorola Solutions Foundation is proud to continue supporting the ACCP-Motorola Solutions Foundation Scholarship Fund program, which really makes a significant contribution to future generations in the Caribbean,” said Matthew Blakely, director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation.
