The flood situation in the Thai capital Bangkok is becoming ever more precarious. The inhabitants in the north of the city have been urged by the Government to evacuate. Here the water level in two canals rose by up to 20 centimetres in a very short time. The authorities have warned that all 50 districts of Bangkok are threatened by flooding.

The "Centre of Competence" for the Indochina region has had to suspend operations and at present is unable to take on any work. "We have almost 20 employees in Bangkok, but there is nothing they can do, so we simply have to suspend operations", says Frank Ullmann, KATHREIN Associated Companies Manager in Rosenheim. Many of the employees of KATHREIN-Indochina have themselves been seriously affected by the flooding. Ullmann reports that they have been offered sanctuary in the company premises.
