Airbus Hybrid Ecosystem for Public Safety is Ready to Embrace 5G
The rapidly evolving product portfolio for secure multimedia communication to serve firefighters, police and other public safety users in the near future.
Airbus, European leader of mission-critical communication solutions will showcase its hybrid product portfolio for public safety users at the Critical Communications Europe/BAPCO 2019 exhibition in Coventry, UK (Airbus stand E22, Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK).
The first hybrid networks in the Middle East, China, and successfully evolving pilot projects in various European countries have proven that Airbus delivers reliable and safe answers to the demands of public safety users in Europe. This technology is able to add 5G secure multimedia tools to existing mission- and business-critical radio networks worldwide.
“Next-generation’s secure communication tools have to be easy to handle and provide all the advantages of existing 4/5G technologies. Airbus has tried to put itself in the shoes of police officers and paramedics and is creating a new ecosystem for public safety applications serving those who work on the field,” says Eric Davalo, Head of Strategic Development of Secure Land Communications at Airbus.
Among these solutions is the Tactilon Dabat, the world’s first secure smartphone and Tetra radio in one device, the collaboration tool Tactilon Agnet, and dozens of smart third-party applications for the Tactilon Dabat and other next-generation devices. “This also includes sophisticated tactical management solutions which feed data to one end user device. All in all, our systems are able to transfer intelligence smoothly from the source to the end user.”
Furthermore, the growing Airbus application ecosystem, as a result of the Airbus app developer programme SmarTWISP, underpins Airbus’ decision to focus on technological evolution which comprises both customised broadband features and existing narrowband infrastructures. The ecosystem will also be in line with future 5G.
