Johns Hopkins University, in conjunction with world health organizations and Esri, has developed a real-time Coronavirus Operations Dashboard. The Johns Hopkins team receives provides updates to the dashboard and its dataset on Chinese coronavirus cases every 15 minutes, and throughout the day on cases outside of China using a variety of authoritative government sources. Any updates obtained from social media, news outlets, or directly from the dashboard itself are vetted for authenticity before the Johns Hopkins team updates the dataset. The very same data that powers the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard can be viewed within RapidDeploy Radius and Nimbus. This makes it easy to view coronavirus statistics within the same public safety applications you use every day, improving your situational awareness without the need to switch between different software applications It’s easy for Radius and Nimbus administrators to add the layer, and it only takes a few minutes. Once the layer has been added, the data is updated as soon as Johns Hopkins staff upload new data.

Rapid Deploy customers do now have access to those updates within Radius and Nimbus with no need to re-import the layer. RapidDeploy’s use of the cloud enables Radius and Nimbus to be quickly reconfigured at scale, facilitating the delivery of live geospatial data across hundreds of PSAPs and thousands of call-taking and dispatch positions with ease – a landmark change in the timely delivery of critical content to telecommunicators and first responders.
