Entropia Digital expands TETRA network in Belgium
Entropia offers voice and data for critical business processes in Belgium and the Netherlands.
On May 25, 2012 the decision was final. Entropia extends the digital Tetra network in Belgium with more than 21,700 km ² additional coverage. The first part was rolled out in 2011 within the Brussels Capital Region. The infrastructure consists of digital equipment from Rohde & Schwarz that was taken over by hytera on the 20 April 2012
The wireless network is based on the TETRA IP technology and is redundant. Customers such as Bayer, Lanxess, Nike, European Commission, G4S, Securitas, Banking Institutions, Embassies and municipalities alreadhave long term contracts signed with Entropia Digital. Entropia offers voice and data for critical business processes in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Per province, two redundant, geographically separated TETRA IP switch will be installed. Each switch at provincial and national level are a HOT standby backup of each other. According to Entropia digital this is unique compared to the competitors of Hytera. For large local customers, a switch on the premises of the customer(s) can be provided. The Rohde & Schwarz (Hytera) Tetra network is also used in the Netherlands, Rotterdam Region.
Entropia Digital realized with the sister company Squalius IT Solutions a gateway for Tetra emergency rooms. This application is called Combus and is offered to every customer Entropia.
Before the end of 2012, the full analog Entropia network will be replaced by a digital Tetra network.
