Cassidian to build Tetra network for Zhengzhou metro line
The Tetra system will comprise a switch at the core of the network, 23 base stations and seven Dispatcher Station Controllers (DSC), making it possible to communicate with users in the field equipped with a Tetra portable radio.
EADS subsidiary and security systems provider Cassidian has been
selected to deliver digital Tetra (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) radio
communication coverage for the metro line in Zhengzhou, the capital city
of Henan province in the Central Plains of China.
It is planned to
build six metro lines in Zhengzhou with a total length of 189 km. The
construction will be divided into three phases. In the first phase will
be to build Metro Line 1, covering a total length of about 35 km and
serving 22 stations.
This line will enter service in 2013. The radio
communication system for this metro line in Zhengzhou is to be installed
by Cassidian and will be an element in sharing a single control centre
with the other five lines scheduled for construction by 2015.
The Tetra
system will comprise a switch at the core of the network, 23 base
stations and seven Dispatcher Station Controllers (DSC), making it
possible to communicate with users in the field equipped with a Tetra
portable radio.
The system will provide perfect communications support
for train dispatching, operation and management, and security for the
Zhengzhou Metro; it will serve about 400 mobile users daily. Cassidian
will install the entire Tetra system and provide the necessary training
and related technical support services.
