Irish Coast Guard experiences improvement in call-out efficiency

The Irish Coast Guard has responded to a high number of callouts, particularly on Monday last week when three of the four helicopters available were all responding to emergencies at sea.
Now operating over TETRA, the helicopter teams have experienced an improvement in call-out efficiency with the new ability to alert both pilots, winchmen, winch operator and engineers all on one call. They can also receive immediate updates on the status of the helicopter preparedness as they make their way from their homes to the airfield.
These improvements are just the beginning in the Irish Coast Guard's experience of the NDRS - they hope it means more lives saved as a result of the great work they do.
