New ASTRID information system for 100- and 101-services in Belgium works perfectly
The director of external relations within Astrid, Daniel Haché, responded last week Thursday to criticism published in: De Standaard.
Management of ASTRID, the telecommunications network for Public Safety Services in Belgium, communicated during the ASTRID User Days exhibition in Mons last week, that the new platform of the 100- and 101-services works "perfectly". They responded to a publication in newspaper: De Standaard.
"If someone calls with an emergency call, a dispatcher, has to struggle through a complex menu before a team is able to be dispatched", said
Toon Jacobs, ACOD-militant at the Antwerp 100 center. "The system requires too much detailed description and if we do override a few steps, the system is blocked."
The director of external relations Astrid, Daniel Haché, responded Thursday to the criticism. "We are in a very technical stage with the migration of the 100 stations for the 101 platform. In three provinces - Namen, Flemish Brabant and East Flanders - the 100 - and 101-service are on a common platform. This offers a huge potential for the operations. "We are aware that the adaptation of the technique and the attitude of the operators takes time," said Haché. "However, we confirm that the new software works perfectly."

The fifth edition of the Astrid User Days started last week Thursday at the Lotto Mons Expo. In two days sixty exhibitors where showing what is on the market for Critical communications equipment.
