Integration of fjord-e-design in Hytera Mobilfunk a fact per 1st January 2013 -2013

The fjord-e-design GmbH company will as of 1st January 2013 be integrated in the Hytera mobile GmbH company, based in Bad Munder Germany. This will be the future of the high technology company from Flensburg.
The Flensburg fjord-e-design GmbH company has evolved from a research project at the Institute of Technology of the University of Applied Sciences Flensburg. This research project was a tester for mobile phones that work with the "then-new" mobile communications standard TETRA. In 2000, it was decided to spin-off the fjord-e-design company. In close collaboration with the Department of applied computer science / communication technology, the company developed to one of the world's leading provider of protocol software and measurement technology for the TETRA mobile communications standard.

The fjord-e-design GmbH comapny is based in Flensburg at two sites, the university and in Flensburg-Soft. With the two product areas, software and instrumentation, the company supports global clients by building TETRA communication networks and the development of large sections of the required software for TETRA terminals.
fjord-e-design, developed measurement equipment that helps customers with troubleshooting in complex communication systems. The good working relationship between the company and its clients is demonstrated by its international customer base: Rhode and Schwarz (Germany), Aeroflex (USA), Hytera (China), radio stations (Germany), Damm Cellular Systems (Denmark) and the Federal Office for Security in Information Technology (Germany).
fjord-e-design technology has continuously been developed, so that the current broadband extension of TETRA (TEDS - TETRA Enhanced Data Service) is already well established and new destinations such as LTE (Long Term Evolution) are targeted. fjord-e-design is managed by two directors: Jürgen Eynck and Hauke Holm. The staff are all graduates of the course applied computer science / communication technology.

The Hytera Mobilefunk GmbH is a German supplier of solutions and products for the Professional Mobile Radio (PMR). A well-known specialist in mobile technology Hytera has over 30 years at the forefront of professional digital wireless systems and among the world's leading manufacturers of TETRA infrastructure components belongs (eg base stations).
The Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH took over, the fjord-e-design GmbH on the 25th October this year and will fully integrate the company in January 2013. Hytera is planning to expand the site in Flensburg as the second important development center for technology-oriented software solutions, and measurement technology. As an advantage, the existing know-how of the fjord-e-design and the close cooperation with the university / communication technology are highly valued.
