Kelvin Connect drives the future of mobile policing
To deliver on the ‘One Box’ challenge, KC worked in collaboration with a number of suppliers including TetraTab.
Kelvin Connect (KC), an Airwave Group company, recently teamed up with a number of other suppliers for ‘One Box’ - a challenge set up by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and run in collaboration with the Home Office's Centre for Applied Science and Technology (CAST) to integrate future technology into a police car.
According to Nigel Rees, Managing Director, KC: “This was an opportunity for various technology suppliers to come together to convert a police vehicle into a mobile office. KC’s Pronto e-notebook was uploaded onto the mounted, demountable and portable devices in the vehicle, which gives officers the ability to digitally capture notes and images.”
Pronto also allows the officer to search simultaneously on any national or local intelligence system or other back office database by inputting minimal information.
“Pronto underpins mobile working for the police and provides access to all the necessary information needed in their day-to-day job. Officers are also able to reuse the data across the complete range of police activities, without unnecessary bureaucracy or trips back to the station. This keeps officers visible in the community,” concludes Nigel.
To deliver on the ‘One Box’ challenge, KC worked in collaboration with a number of suppliers including Airmax Group, Civica, Daetech Systems, Facewatch, Imagebase, Innaxys, TetraTab, Trans-Tag, Vauxhall and Videolatitude.
