Successful test BDBOS digital radio network in North Rhine-Westphalia region
The test took place in the local region (district Soest) and consisted of 65 vehicles and 130 police officers & rescue workers, using the new digital TETRA radio's
The large-scale radio practice on the BDBOS network took place on Wednesday evening 9th April.
While driving, various exercises with the new digital radios where carried out. According to the police, it was important to test the various components and the capacity of the new digital network.
The exercise was participated by 65 vehicles and about 130 people and was headed by Police Commissioner Thomas Nordhoff, who was running the operations from the local control center.
All 130 participants where satisfied with the outcome of the test. The exact dates and final results were evaluated last week and showed that the exercise was completed successfully. The police district Soest may soon complete switch to digital radio.
The police Soest already tested the digital radio already in "direct mode" since the end of January. Currently local communications are still handled via the analog radio.
