Argentina operators share infrastructure with Tetra system
Three Argentinean mobile operators have rented part of the public infrastructure to expand coverage and improve their services in the mountainous area from Cacheuta to Las Cuevas reports Diario Uno
The government rented part of the Tetra communications system to Claro, Movistar and Personal. Since early March, the three operators are providing 80 percent coverage of the area using 16 cells installed in nine towers with the Tetra system.
The agreement between the government and the operators came to fruition a year after three large-scale avalanches interrupted the international corridor, where 1,200 trucks and 1,500 vehicles pass daily.
