Teltronic presents two new base stations to provide TETRA and LTE coverage on the move
The new outdoor base stations come up to support the hardest operations, being easily transportable and withstanding temperature extremes to keep operational even under the worst conditions
Teltronic’s TETRA & LTE eNEBULA infrastructure covers a wide range of base station types: indoor, outdoor, mast-mounted and air conditioned racks. In the Critical Communication World event in Singapore, Teltronic’s portfolio will grow up with the launching of another two types of base stations. The Portable Base Stations (PBS) is a wheeled unit designed to be easily carried by a single person. Each PBS is made up of one TETRA carrier that can be expanded with an extra unit to provide 2-carrier coverage.
When linked to an existing eNEBULA system, the PBS works as an additional base station of the network, whereas if neither connection nor fixed system are available, the PBS can operate as a single site TETRA system without requiring any additional components. Outdoor operation is not a problem for the PBS, since it features an IP-66 enclosure and withstands from -30 to +60ºC. Optionally, the PBS can consist of a LTE eNodeB instead of a TETRA carrier.
The Deployable Base Station (DBS) is a unit that enables quick installation to provide coverage where is needed or to increase network capacity when facing emergencies. It incorporates telescopic legs to be lifted in case of flooded or irregular terrain, and handles on both sides allow it to be easily carried by four people.
The DBS can be adapted to different configurations to meet every customer requirements: two TETRA carriers (that can be expanded to four carriers using an additional DBS), a TETRA carrier and a LTE eNodeB in the same box or even two LTE eNodeB in redundant configuration.
As for the environmental characteristcs, it supports from -30 to +60 ºC and boasts an IP-66 protection degree, enabling outdoor operation even under the harshest weather conditions. As the PBS, the DBS can work as an additional base station in an existing eNEBULA system or in isolated mode, delivering a comprehensive range of TETRA services as a single site system.
