Sepura creates new senior commercial executive role
Sepura plc has today announced the appointment of Chris D’Aguiar into a newly created senior executive role of VP Commercial.
The new role is designed to expand Sepura’s share of the commercial market globally, particularly the Energy and Extractives, Transportation and Industrial sectors. D’Aguiar will rely on Sepura’s entire critical communications portfolio to achieve this growth, including the recently launched DMR range, and the market leading intrinsically safe STP8X TETRA product.
Gordon Watling, Sepura's CEO, commented "Chris' appointment strengthens our strategic commitment to the commercial sector, and reaffirms our on-going evolution into a global critical communications business by continuing to scale and structure the organisation to reflect our more diversified addressable markets and broader solutions portfolio. Chris joins us with significant international business development experience in the mission critical communications solutions arena, and his background of taking state of the art solutions to commercial sectors is a perfect fit for our strategic growth plans.”
D’Aguiar has previously held senior executive positions with Marconi and recently Immarsat plc, where he was VP of Sales and Marketing and a member of the Executive Management Board.
He commented “I am delighted to join at such an exciting time and I welcome the opportunity of supporting our continued growth. Sepura have a worldwide reputation for producing innovative, reliable and state of the art communications solutions, which makes for extremely compelling propositions for mission critical users from within the commercial market.”
The new position is designed to complement the recently created senior executive VP Government and Public Safety role, to which Jonathan Hamill was appointed in March 2014.
