Selectric to deliver 4.500 TETRA radios in the city of Bayreuth and Coburg
After the Bavarian Police, the BRK and various counties in Bavaria now also the two integrated control center areas Bayreuth/Kulmbach and Coburg have decided to purchase digital radios from Selectric.
The digital radios were purchased after a period of extentive testing.
On 21 July 2014, the signatures were put under the framework agreements. Now in the next few months about 4,500 units will be delivered. To be able to negotiate an attractive price, the two adjacent control room areas Bayreuth/Kulmbach and Coburg, which includes the counties Lichtenfels and Kronach started the tender procedure. The joint purchase is a prime example of possible synergy effects in inter-municipal cooperation and resulted in huge cost savings of aproximately 200.000 Euro.
The first radios are expecte t be delivered in Octobr this year.
Furthermore, thousands of volunteer helpers will be trained on the new communication technology, so that all are fit for extended trial run next year in Upper Franconia.
