TETRA Technology to support the 2018 Football World Cup
Russia’s Ministry of Communications and Mass Media plans to draft a communications and information technology project for the 2018 FIFA World Cup by the end of March, Minister Nikolai Nikiforov said last Tuesday.
Sputnik News reports that at the end of March the ministry are planning to prepare a systems project, which is a top-level document that describes how various systems are connected with each other.
"Based on the experience of the [2013] Universiade in Kazan and the [2014] Sochi Olympics we are drafting a corresponding systems project for the World Cup," Minister Nikolai Nikiforov said.
Speaking on a working visit to Egypt, the Russian minister expressed confidence that the project would be completed by the March 31 deadline.
President Vladimir Putin and members of the country's government plan to convene a meeting on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 WorldSkills championship.
