TETRA Training technology courses
Along with its partner, Arico Technologies, MAC Ltd was recently selected to provide certified TETRA training courses on behalf of the TETRA Association. Two courses are available. The one-day TETRAfirst course provides a comprehensive introduction to TETRA and covers a wide range of topics including
- Positioning of TETRA, market segments and typical users
- System architecture, network elements and their functionality
- The TETRA air interface
- TETRA modes of operation
- Basic and supplementary services
- TETRA organisations, standardisation and future developments
- An overview of system and terminal suppliers, and their products
The two-day TETRAcomplete course has been designed to provide a more in-depth knowledge of the TETRA air interfaces (protocol stack architecture and radio aspects) and their operations, as well as issues relevant to TETRA network planning and capacity dimensioning. The topics covered include
- TETRA radio interface
- TETRA physical layer
- Radio propagation at TETRA frequencies
- Tele-traffic modelling
- TETRA network planning
- TETRA Direct Mode operation
- TETRA 2 and TEDS
- Regulatory issues
The courses are run on consecutive days so that, when brought together, they form a comprehensive three-day training session that takes the attendees from a basic introduction to TETRA through to the complex issues associated with modelling, planning and deploying a TETRA network.
