Curated by: Gert Jan Wolf - Editor-in Chief for The Critical Communications Review

ARCOS® LLC, a leader in workforce management solutions for utilities and other critical infrastructure industries, has acquired TextPower, a pioneer in text messaging communication services. This strategic move strengthens ARCOS’s commitment to enhancing utility operations in both critical response and daily work through a single comprehensive suite of solutions.

"When utilities are focused on emergency response, it’s essential for them to communicate with customers early and often," said Odus "Boogie" Wittenburg, CEO of ARCOS. "TextPower has built a formidable reputation within utilities for their reliability and exceptional service. Adding their technology and expertise helps us expand our vision of a single, interconnected suite of products that help utilities seamlessly manage operations. It will also create new opportunities to serve more utilities and provide new value to our collective 400-plus utility customers."

TextPower provides real-time customer and employee communication solutions for a wide variety of use cases, including billing and late payment notifications, outage alerts and ETRs (Estimated Time of Restoration), and demand management. It can also be used to provide emergency alerts and information, such as during storms and wildfires. The company’s system has out-of-the-box integrations to popular outage management systems, enabling seamless two-way communication with the right customers during events, while its AlertDispatcher Pro® product enables bi-directional communication with crews in the field.

"From the start, it’s been clear that there is shared DNA in our companies’ approaches to serving the utility industry," said co-founders Scott Goldman and Mark Nielsen, CEO and Executive Chairman of TextPower, respectively. "Together, we look forward to unlocking new possibilities and delivering unparalleled value to our customers."

As part of the acquisition, TextPower’s leadership team and staff will join ARCOS and continue to provide quality support and service to both current and new customers. ARCOS and TextPower will explore new use cases and opportunities to better serve utility operations with fast, effective communication tools.

"It’s inspiring to be working with a team that shares our mission to help utilities improve customer service, reduce costs and optimize efficiency," Goldman and Nielsen continued.
