Hytera Mobilfunk GmbH Equips Poland's Largest Airport with a New Mission-Critical TETRA System.
The system will consist of two TETRA base stations type DIB-R5 advanced. This equipment will enable Chopin Airport to have a high capacity of up to 31 radio channels per base station.
With 20 million passengers a year and around 300 flights a day, Chopin Airport, on the outskirts of Poland's capital Warsaw, is one of the largest transhipment centres for passengers and transport goods in Eastern Europe. Hytera Mobilfunk now confirms the conclusion of contract negotiations for a new TETRA radio system at this important hub.
Marcin Bialczak, Sales Director Central & Eastern Europe: "Our first-class communication equipment together with the expertise of our local partner RadioPartners made this project a perfect offer for our customer".
TETRA: A radio system that convinces
The system will consist of two TETRA base stations type DIB-R5 advanced. This equipment will enable Chopin Airport to have a high capacity of up to 31 radio channels per base station. In combination with a detailed antenna and repeater network, this will ensure complete coverage of the airport.
The core functions are provided by two redundant TETRA switching nodes with Network Management System (NMS) and voice recording. A further five dispatcher consoles enable the coordination of more than 1000 TETRA radios, including portable ATEX radios for operation in explosive zones.
"Reliable voice and data communication is essential for airports. Our technology is ideally suited for these complex applications and has proven itself many times over. We are very pleased about the trust placed in us and are proud to equip Chopin Airport with an optimal communication system," MARCO MARTINATO - VP SALES EASTERN EUROPE.
Step by step migration
During the initial migration period, the new TETRA system will initially be connected to an EDACS (radio communication protocol) system to allow users to gradually migrate from the old system to the new state-of-the-art Hytera ACCESSNET-T IP network.
