BelFone Releases Cross-protocol Convergent Push-to-talk Radio
Within cellular carriers’ network coverage, BF-SCP810 works in Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) mode literally as a smartphone with professional PTT keys and features.
BelFone, a leading technology and solution provider of mission and business-critical communications, recently launched BF-SCP810, a convergent radio that operates with both the public cellular network and private Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) network. The new device is designed as a two-in-one device with the advantages of an Android smartphone and two-way radio.
Within cellular carriers’ network coverage, BF-SCP810 works in Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) mode literally as a smartphone with professional PTT keys and features. With dual SIM cards, the device performs with reliable connectivity even in cross-zone/network processes; therefore, it maximizes the reliability both in voice calls and data applications.
When the carriers’ coverage is not available, BF-SCP810 works in PMR (Professional Mobile Radio) mode as a DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) two-way radio. The narrowband private network radio has the advantages of high efficiency in frequency utilization, long D2D communication distance, strong signal penetration and anti-interference ability. It can build voice and short message channels without base stations. In emergencies, BF-SCP810 connects with an ad hoc system to establish an onsite communications system and facilitates dispatching with the control center.
BF-SCP810 can connect to BelFone smart IP interconnection system (SDC) and realize a variety of functions such as voice dispatch, emergency alarm, GIS application, patrol clocking, recording, NFC access control, smart identity recognition and other functions.
“Mission critical users require more data applications for daily operations while regarding voice calls as the bottom-line in emergencies. BF-SCP810 eliminates the trouble and complexity of wearing two separate devices and ensures connectivity in different modes,” said Jerome Xue, vice president of BelFone Overseas. “It has great potential in empowering teams and organizations to operate with higher productivity and safety.”
BF-SCP810 also takes into account the operating habits of users in emergency scenarios. The product is designed with two PTT buttons, users can predefine the priority of PMR communications and both PTT button support dual standby and single standby modes. This allows users to initiate communication with a single button press without having to switch applications, simplifying communication, and ensuring efficient communication between both parties at critical moments.
BelFone stated that the company is committed to all the ongoing investment in research and development (R&D) to create cutting-edge products and solutions that contribute to a safer world.
