NSW Telco Authority Updates Operational Communication Strategy to Further Enhance Critical Communications
The strategy refresh comes at a critical junction to address diverse challenges in Australia.
NSW Telco Authority announced that they recently launched an updated their Operational Communication Strategy (OCS)
The OCS reflects evolving customer needs and changes in our operating environment. It ensures that NSW Telco Authority are equipped with the right technology, people and systems to meet their customers’ growing demand for secure, reliable and resilient voice and data-enabled services.
Amid a rapidly changing landscape, the strategy refresh comes at a critical junction to address diverse challenges. These include the impact of natural disasters on public safety communications, evolving connectivity needs of emergency services to leverage new technologies, and connectivity challenges faced by regional, rural and remote communities.
The OCS includes five pillars, eight strategic programs, and quantifiable measures of success. It also provides a comprehensive framework for addressing challenges and delivering future success, offering effective solutions to our customers.
Kylie De Courteney, Managing Director, NSW Telco Authority said:
"We have an exciting journey ahead. This strategy will look at incorporating new technologies into
our offerings, such as Low Earth Orbit satellites and, importantly, look at ways of delivering
in-field mission-critical broadband to emergency services so they have the same connectivity when
responding to critical incidents as the rest of us have in our workplaces."

"One of the strategy’s main priorities is to deliver this capability to emergency services through the
Public Safety Mobile Broadband national program – a Commonwealth, state and territory initiative to
deliver national interoperable voice and data capabilities to first responders."
