Selectric and Sepura to deliver radios for emergency services in the Steinfurt area, Germany
The new digital radio offers significant advantages over the now more than 50 years old analogue radios
30 vehicles of the emergency service of the 24 municipalities in the Steinfurt region were now equipped with the new wireless TETRA technology. The medium-sized enterprise Selectric took over intelligence systems from the fitting of Munster and the delivery of new TETRA equipment by Sepura
Selectric-CEO Juergen Heußner and installation manager Dipl.-Ing. Thomas Marxcors now personally took the last equipped vehicle to Dr. Stefan Luehrs, medical director of the emergency services and senior emergency of the Steinfurt region, and Matthias Wendker, head of the fire service of Greven.
The new digital radio offers significant advantages over the now more than 50 years old analogue radios. The data is transferred using secure encryption, and the voice quality is much better than the old radio technology. Many additional options such as an alarm function with the possibility of GPS location positioning and control through the suppression of annoying ambient noise to provide better, faster and more reliable assistance in emergencies.
Through the new digital radio technology the safety of citizens and emergency personnel increase significantly, said Dr. Luehrs. This has played an important role in the decision to upgrade to the new technology.
