MSB worked with Work Environment and Radiation Safety Authority, who are the authorities responsible for controlling and measuring the radiation from the Rakel TETRA network. Measurements show that public exposure to signals on the measured positions corresponding to one ten thousandth or less of Radiation Protection Agency reference values. The measurements also show that the signals are generally the same size as the signals in the police and emergency old analogue network.

The cellular radio models used on Rakel are approved by the MSB and complies with the WHO and EU laws and recommendations. Rakel Radios are SAR (SAR is a measure of the energy entering the body when the phone is held against the head and transmitting at maximum power) below the limits of the International Commission on Radiological Protection for Non-Ionizing Radiation, ICNIRP (1998) and CENELEC EN (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) 62209-1: 2006.
