...another deciding factor was the radio’s compatibility with other Sepura products already in use with all other forces in the East Midlands region.

Northamptonshire Police have chosen Sepura’s SRH3900 terminals to replace all 2,000 of their existing handsets - along with associated accessories - in a two-phase implementation programme, concluding in September 2013.  The force will also be adopting Sepura’s cost-saving TETRA radio programming and management tool, Radio Manager 2.

The SRH3900, which features GPS and Short Data Application support, was chosen from Sepura’s extensive range of terminals for its compact, rugged design - already successfully deployed with countless organisations in the public safety, military, transport and utility sectors worldwide.

Another deciding factor was the radio’s compatibility with other Sepura products already in use with all other forces in the East Midlands region.

“The adoption of this new technology will enable efficiency savings within our force and across the East Midlands region” said Adam Simmonds, Police and Crime Commissioner for Northamptonshire Police.  “This change increases the scope for shared support and cross-border working whilst increasing resilience for Northamptonshire.”

“This success highlights the strategic nature of our increased presence in the East Midlands and strengthens our support of the police forces in the region,” said Jonathan Hamill, Regional Director for UK and Ireland. “We are fully committed to assisting Northamptonshire Police in their drive for greater efficiency, and very much look forward to working with them to ensure the smooth deployment of the new fleet of radios.”
