Zetron’s DCS-5020 Console System API Provides Complete Integration to CAD and AVL Applications
The new application program interface for its DCS-5020 Digital Console system allows end users to control call opps. directly from the mapping resource instead of having to control them from the console wich simplifies operations & reduces response times.
Zetron, a leading provider of mission-critical communication systems for public safety, transportation and utilities announced that it has developed a new CAD/AVL application program interface (API) for its DCS-5020 Digital Console system. The API allows integration between the console and applications such as Zetron’s automated vehicle location (AVL) software and third-party (computer-aided dispatch) CAD and AVL solutions.
When the new DCS-5020 API is used with AVL and CAD applications, dispatchers can initiate call setup, text messaging or status alerts, or enable the setup of patches on the console directly via the API to resources connected to the DCS-5020. This allows AVL or CAD users to control many of their call operations directly from the CAD or mapping resource instead of having to do so from the console.
“The DCS-5020 is one of our most reliable and cost-effective dispatch products for small to medium-size systems,” said Zetron Vice President of Product Management, Kathy Broadwell. “The new API expands the DCS-5020’s capabilities to include data applications such as AVL, making it an extremely competitive solution.”
Live demonstrations of Zetron’s AVL solution connected to a Zetron console system via the new APL will be presented at Zetron’s booth at the Critical Communications World (CCW) in Singapore, May 20-22, 2014.
