The Dutch emergency services network C2000 has 'white spots' in 24 parts of the country, where little to no coverage is available, according to an update from the justice ministry in response to questions from parliament.

A list is drawn up annually of network incidents and possible interference problems, so the most urgent problems can be addressed with additional antennas. Currenty the coverage is estimated at 97.5 percent. In areas without coverage, mobile phones and walkie talkies may make up the difference.

The CDA party asked specifically about the situation in Heeten, part of the municipality Raalte, and the ministry said the area is on the list for improved coverage in 2015.

Coverage of the C2000 TETRA network seems to be a real pain in The Netherlands, as over the last few years the Dutch Ministry identfied a large number of locations that needed extra masts to enhance the coverage of the emergency network. That project was succesfully cosed and now again it seems that extra coverage is needed to cover the so called: "blind spots".
