Olivier Koczan - New Head of Secure Land Communications at Airbus Defence and Space
Olivier Koczan has been named Head of Secure Land Communications at Airbus Defence and Space as of 1 June 2015. He brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications business and international markets and replaces Nicole Lecca.
Nicole Lecca will assume a new position within the Airbus Group.
As Head of Sales within the Communications, Intelligence & Security business line at Airbus Defence and Space since 2013, he led a large sales and marketing team with employees of 35 nationalities based in 27 countries. The CIS portfolio encompasses solutions for SatCom services, Geo Intelligence, Integrated Systems and Secure Land Communications, with the most business coming from international markets.
He joined the Airbus Group – at that time Matra Nortel Communication and later EADS – in 1994 as a business manager, responsible for both sales development and project delivery in the French defence telecommunications market segment.
In 2000, he took over the management responsibility for the professional mobile radio business in France. Under his leadership, the deliveries of the French national secure radio networks RUBIS for the French military police (Gendarmerie) and ACROPOL for the French National Police were concluded.
In 2007, he became the Head of Applications & Services for EADS Secure Networks, a role in which he was responsible for developing applications and services for new businesses.
In 2009, he was named CEO of Security& Communications Solutions France. In addition to this function, he also took on the managing role of the international sales force of the whole entity in 2010.
Olivier Koczan has a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering and an MBA from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD). He is also a graduate of the Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence (IHEDN), a French public institution for expertise in and sensitisation towards defence matters.
