Transport continues to be an important market sector for TETRA
The TETRA and Critical Communications Transport Group expects that TETRA will continue to be an important market sector for TETRA as TETRA use of signalling continues to grow.
Robin Davis, Chairman of the TCCA Transportation Group communicated that over the last year, the Transportation Group has written three transport papers, attended three UIC/ERA workshops on the future evolution of GSM-R and supported three transport workshops. According to the Transportation Group, Interest in TETRA for airports is on the rise and recently the Finnish Transport Ministry has announced that it will replace GSM-R with TETRA on the Virve network.
In the last year, The TCCA Transportation Group also elected Tony Gray as the Vice Chairman of the group. He replaces David Taylor.
Aside, CCBG (Critical Communications Broadband Group) Chairman, Tero Pesonen stated the his group discussed closer liaison with UIC for the development of railway standards and that a workshop should be arranged in due course.
