The Sepura Group to provide complete communications solution for Brasilia Metro
Teltronic, part of the Sepura Group, has been selected to provide a complete communications solution for Brasilia Metro.
Part of an ambitious project by Metrô-DF operator to modernise and expand the Brazilian capital’s transport network, the solution consists of Nebula TETRA infrastructure, a CeCo-TRANS control centre, RTP-300 on-board equipment, STP9000 hand-portable radios and SRG3900 mobile radios.
The solution, which replaces the Metro’s aging analogue system, will improve coverage as well as enhance communications between drivers, station staff, the control centre and passengers. It will cover Line 1, which currently carries 160,000 passengers per day – a figure that is set to increase as a further five passenger stations are added under the expansion project.
"We are confident that this TETRA system will optimise critical communications within the network, augmenting the security of both our passengers and our employees” said Daniela Diniz, Director of the Technical Board of Directors for Metrô-DF.
"With this project, we reaffirm our world-leading position in professional transport communications solutions," said Ricardo Floriani, Regional Manager for Teltronic Brazil.
“This tailor-made solution leverages the power of TETRA technology to tackle Brasilia Metro’s daily operational challenges, making a vital contribution to the safe transportation of millions of passengers."
