According to IHS Jane's 360, Hytera, is setting up a new office in Manila to follow up on opportunities to promote its products to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and government sectors.

The privately owned firm is promoting several systems to the AFP, company. This was told by Hytera officials to IHS Jane's on 30 September at the Asian Defence and Security 2016 (ADAS 2016) exhibition in Manila.

Hytera has traditionally supplied its products - including land mobile radio systems, command-and-control systems, and terminals - to sectors including commercial aerospace, law enforcement, and energy.

But officials pointed to opportunities to expand with sales to the AFP, which has traditionally relied on US systems for its tactical communications capabilities.

It is no surprise that Hytera is putting more focus on the defence market. Last year the company demonstrated its solutions during Milipol in Paris, showcasing its tailored solutions to support critical communcations for defence organizations.
