Airbus will equip the 53rd Munich Security Conference with a secure Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) network together with Tetra network operator Stadtwerke München.

The organisers of the renowned security-policy event have thus chosen a proven, reliable technology that ensures the security of participants from politics, business and media.

A separate base station (TB3c) will be connected to the existing radio network of Stadtwerke München especially for this conference. This secure radio technology will enable mobile communication by security and conference staff as well as German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) personnel over the entire period of the conference, ensuring that they can efficiently perform their support tasks. On account of the heightened security measures, this radio system is enhanced with special encryption features.
At the same time, Stadtwerke München is once again making the Airbus TH1n, the world’s smallest Tetra radio, available to conference staff members. It is particularly suitable for covert use, and has proven its effectiveness at the Munich Security Conference for years.

Over the past years, the Munich Security Conference, initially launched in 1963, has become one of the most important conferences in the field of foreign and security policy. Each year, it provides high-ranking policy makers from all over the world with a forum for constructive discussions of current and future security challenges. As every year, numerous guests from Germany and abroad are expected at the conference.
