Hytera equips IAAF World U20 Championships with DMR
Due to the requirements, nature of work and previous experience, it was decided to use Hytera PD505 and PD785 two-way radios included with headsets.
A total of 1,518 athletes competed at the 2016 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Under-20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland two weeks ago. The turnout, made up of 832 men and 686 women, is the second-biggest to date with the 2012 edition in Barcelona the only one to attract more, 1,566. Athletes from some 160 IAAF Member Federations competed across six days of action in the Polish city's Zawisza Stadium, which also hosted the event in 2008.
During the event Alfa Radio, supplier of Motorola, Kenwood, Hytera radios in Poland, provided Hytera DMR communications equipment that were used by judges, organizers and security, before and during event in the Zawisza Stadium.
According to the organization, it was key to provide connectivity for a large number of groups - working independently - with a limited number of frequencies available. Reliable transmission, confidentiality of correspondence and ease of use - were important requirements, hence the choice fell on Hytera radios.
