Hytera Secures Radio Communications during UTMB
Hytera Mobilfunk, through its Italian partner BPG Radiocommunazioni SRL, will support the upcoming Ultra-Trail Mont Blanc (UTMB) 2016 event with DMR radios on the 26 August.
It is not the first time the UTMB event uses radio from Hytera Mobilfunk through BPG. For BPG it is the second year that the company delivers secure and reliable communications to the most difficult foot races in Europe. The 60 DMR radios from the PD5 series and repeater will be delivered to support communications for the Italian part of the race, supported by a dispatch centre that is based in Chamonix France.
This year’s race will start on the 26 August 18:00 hrs with more than 2300 participants.
The UTMB is a single-stage mountain ultramarathon. It takes place once a year in the Alps, and follows the route of the Tour du Mont Blanc through France, Italy and Switzerland. It has a distance of approximately 166 kilometres (103 mi), and a total elevation gain of around 9,600 m. It is widely regarded as one of the most difficult foot races in Europe, and one of the largest with over two thousand participants.
