Motorola Solutions has reached the 10th year milestone of its MOTOTRBO™ digital radio portfolio with a comprehensive set of industrial communications solutions in China.

The focus on vertical industries comes at a crucial time amid China’s transition toward services, domestic consumption and consumer-led sectors including hospitality and retail. According to KPMG, these sectors which are experiencing annual growth rates of around 10 per cent, along with industrial sectors, are developing quickly as the country’s new economic engines.

Motorola Solutions will further customise its MOTOTRBO portfolio to help these organisations achieve their business performance and growth objectives.

These made-for-China solutions will be tailored to help organisations achieve higher levels of efficiency, productivity and safety, and customised to suit companies of different sizes as well as the needs of technology users working in different roles.

Today, Motorola Solutions’ communications solutions are being deployed all across the country in industries ranging from transport, oil and gas, forestry, hospitality and retail. All these sectors face common challenges, including the need to manage higher operational costs and growing customer expectations.

“China is a highly diverse and complex market where we work closely with our customers and partners to clearly understand their challenges in order to design and co-create solutions that meet their specific needs,” says Lily Fu, General Manager, Radio Channels, Motorola Solutions China.

Motorola Solutions recently conducted a survey among 300 technology users to determine the reasons behind company transition from analogue radio technology to digital technology. The survey found reliability, voice quality and battery life to be the most important drivers.

By choosing digital two-way radio solutions, customers can combine the best features of instant, crystal clear voice communications with business-focused data applications to manage their operations more efficiently,” Fu continues.

For the past decade, Motorola Solutions has been regularly investing in R&D and innovation resources to enhance the features of the digital mobile radio portfolio for better collaboration within enterprises and organisations to improve daily operations.

This has enabled Motorola Solutions to deliver continued innovation to the Next Generation MOTOTRBOTM portfolio launched in 2016, including indoor location-tracking, longer battery life, Wi-Fi as well as integration of WAVE™ 5000 Work Group Communications software and Capacity Max digital trunking solution.

This follows earlier enhancements such as BluetoothTM, job-ticketing, dispatch applications, text messaging and longer talk times.

As the founding member of the Digital Mobile Radio Association (DMRA), this year also marks Motorola Solutions’ 30th anniversary in China, where the global leader in critical communications was one of the first multinational technology companies to establish roots back in 1987.

Today, Motorola Solutions has established long-standing customer relationships, proven capabilities, and a trusted network of partners in this country.
