RGB Delivers Visual Support for Critical Presentations

RGB Spectrum, in partnership with Prysm and AV integration firm Omnix International, provided the ECSSR with a video processing solution that keeps presentations flowing smoothly.

The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) in Abu Dhabi is a preferred venue when political leaders and influential academics meet to discuss key issues affecting the security of the Middle East. The ECSSR is a preeminent research institution which hosts academic conferences, symposia and lectures, as well as visits from celebrated intellectuals, high-ranking military personnel and notable dignitaries. These high-profile events are now supported by RGB Spectrum’s video display technology.

In the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Hall, the center’s largest presentation space, RGB Spectrum’s MediaWall Display Processors provide multi-windowed visual support. The hall features two large LPD video walls and consists of three independent sections that can be joined together to accommodate up to 600 people. During critical presentations, attendees focus their attention on every detail, so it is imperative that the hall’s display equipment deliver both superb image quality and unparalleled reliability.

RGB Spectrum, in partnership with Prysm and AV integration firm Omnix International, provided the ECSSR with a video processing solution that keeps presentations flowing smoothly. This comprehensive audio-visual system supports various hall configurations, processes high-resolution graphics and video in a range of formats and from a variety of devices, and provides rapid switching of imagery.

RGB Spectrum’s MediaWall processors provide an ideal solution for the control of two liquid phosphor display (LPD) video walls. An 11m x 3.5m Prysm wall installed above the main podium functions as the primary display surface. The back of the room features a smaller Prysm wall (6m x 3.5m), which can display either additional imagery or a duplication of the main wall’s content.

MediaWall processors enable the high-resolution display of multiple images in any size or position. The content varies dramatically depending on the type of presentation, and may be changed frequently to keep pace with the speaker’s material. Typical imagery might include the king’s portrait, a variety of presentation support materials, and video feeds from on-site cameras. PC servers, signage servers, television broadcast streams and other direct camera feeds provide additional content options.

The video wall display is controlled by Omnix personnel, who use the processor’s presets to change the configuration of inputs on the walls and route them to the ECSSR’s studio for recording and archiving. According to Ezzat Kaddoura, Sales Director for Omnix International, “We use RGB Spectrum’s MediaWall display processors in all of our video wall installations. The MediaWall processor is easy to operate and has no issues managing large bandwidth videos. The processor’s real-time performance is responsive and easily handles such video inputs. In fact, the MediaWall system is noticeably faster than competitive systems we’ve tested. The processors work seamlessly with Prysm’s LPD video walls to provide an impressive display system for this high-profile presentation hall.”
