Samsung standards technology director Suresh Chitturi re-elected as chairman 3GPP SA6

Samsung technology standards director Suresh Chitturi has been re-elected as chairman 3GPP SA6. In a statement he said to be humbled to be re-elected to the position of 3GPP SA6 Chairman for a second term through acclamation. He thanks SA6 members for showing trust and confidence. Chitturi said: "I look forward to the continued success of SA6, and working closely with everyone in making a difference in 3GPP through enabling technologies for better integration of vertical industries and applications, which is particularly important as the footprint of 5G deployments grow. The evolution of the critical communications standards towards 5G is a core mission of SA6." Over the last few years, as Vice-Chair & Chair of 3GPP WG SA6, Chitturi has played a vital role since the group's inception in developing the next generation of global mission-critical communications standards, that will save countless lives & provide enormous benefits to millions of people around the world. With the appointment of Chitturi, Samsung continues its significant contribution and progress in making 4 and 5G technology a reality for critical communications.

Throughout the years, Chitturi generated 50+ patent applications (10+ granted), 10+ conference papers/presentations and countless technical contributions to a number of emerging standards initiatives in the area of applications, content, web, and services. He contributed actively towards developing technology and standards strategy in various global Standards Organizations (SDOs) such as W3C, JCP, OMA, GSMA, and 3GPP including leadership and editor roles for a number of technical specifications
