The City of Vero Beach, Florida announced earlier today that they have entered into an agreement with Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to provide expert advice, analysis, and recommendations for the replacement of the Department’s current Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS).

Mr. Matthew Monaco, Deputy Chief for the City, provided an overview:

“We were interested in collaborating with a knowledgeable consultant who could assist us in optimizing our dispatch and records management operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compatibility with current and future technological advancements specifically needed for the Vero Beach Police Department. Having more than 40 years of core qualifications and public safety consulting experience, Federal Engineering was qualified to meet our needs in providing system analysis and design for our public safety organizations.”

Mr. Monaco continued, “Although the City of Vero Beach has an estimated population of nearly 17,100 residents, the City is the county seat of Indian River County, which has a total population of approximately 167,000 and growing. FE’s analysis will also include the evaluation of the option of piggybacking on the County’s system. Currently, Fire/EMS is dispatched by Indian River County Sheriff’s Office”.

“Since 1997 the Police Department has used Logisys as its CAD & RMS vendor. The Department was recently notified that Logysis would no longer support CAD or RMS as of December 2024. Based on this development, it became imperative that we obtained the crucial assistance needed to implement the City’s needs in order to serve our community more effectively and efficiently.” concluded Chief Monaco.”

Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, President & CEO of Federal Engineering said:

“Few consulting firms have the breadth of experience in all the requisite technologies as we do. FE brings unparalleled project experience to the City of Vero Beach. FE has worked with many jurisdictions to conduct assessments, identify recommendations, develop technical specifications, and support the procurement and implementation of CAD/RMS Mobile solutions. The City will benefit greatly from our four decades of experience support public safety jurisdictions.”

“Our involvement includes understanding our clients’ requirements, business processes, information technology support capabilities, strategic vision, and culture. FE’s staff come from public safety backgrounds and have diverse consulting experience. FE represents total independence and objective analysis, free from influence by hardware vendors, software suppliers, or managed service providers. Objective independence and vendor neutrality is a core value of the company,” added Mr. Bosco.
