International Critical Control Rooms Alliance Goes Independent
As part of the transition, International Critical Control Rooms Alliance (ICCRA) has changed its membership program in order to make it as easy for those with an interest in critical control rooms to join the expanding alliance.
In July, ICCRA and TCCA announced to its members the exciting news that ICCRA was to become a fully independent organisation. Meanwhile, ICCRA leadership has been busy finalising administrative and logistical details.
At the time of the announcement, Tony Gray, TCCA Chief Executive said: "I’m delighted that the growth and strength of ICCRA means that the group can now stand alone as an entity separate to TCCA. We will of course continue to work closely with the organisation, and wish ICCRA every success in addressing the requirements of the many thousands of people worldwide who work in mission critical control rooms delivering vital services for us all."
In response, Peter Prater, ICCRA’s co-founder and Chair said: "ICCRA recognises and applauds the support it has received from TCCA for the past years. Without the foresight of TCCA and its belief in us we would not be where we are today. ICCRA looks forward to the opportunity to take its own path now and is excited by what the future holds. One thing is for certain, the relationship between the two organisations is a vital one as our interests of course include the mobile communications demanded by critical control rooms across the globe.”
Whilst the ICCRA team have made great progress over the last few weeks, there is still more to do to ensure ICCRA have the logistical support in place to continue its valued work.
A new organisation, same mission
In order to operate independently, ICCRA has been now incorporated as a not-for-profit company in England. The organisation have established a small board of directors which will be expanded overtime to provide leadership and drive from across the entire critical control rooms industry.
Simplified membership
As the focus of ICCRA lies in supporting its members ICCRA has slightly changed its membership program. The new membership program makes it easy, for those with an interest in critical control rooms, to join the expanding alliance.
The new ICCRA membership levels are:
- Operator Membership: Individuals from organisations providing critical control room services - FREE to join.
- Commercial Membership: Individuals who receive compensation for providing products and/or services to critical control rooms - £180 per year.
Corporate membership packages will be announced in due course.
