Will Minister Dmowski build a TETRA System in Poland?
Presentations during the event where conducted by representatives of the Police and Fire Service, who agreed that that the creation of a single TETRA communications network is necessary.
It seems that the Minister Roman Dmowski will end up in history as the one who will build a uniform system for radio communications services in Poland.
Last week in Warsaw, at the Institute of Communications conference VII TETRA Forum, Dmowski said that after many years of preparation for the construction of a nationwide TETRA network, the Interior Ministry should soon start to this project.
A proposal for a reservation of funds (z? 190 million), in the current European perspective, was made ??about two weeks ago by the Ministry of Regional Development.
Dmowski reserved financing for the z?190 million already, however, this amount is not already integrated in the final model of the project. It is known that in order to get funding from the European Union, 85% of the amount of of the total project, can not be taken by a commercial company.
The beginning of the project will be the implementation of a pilot pilot in 2-3 provinces. In the longer term, the build of the system would be continued in order to roll-out nationwide.
The Conference at the Institute of Communications gathered about 100 people from key public safety, fire fighting, public institutions, the energy sector and commercial companies. The conference began with a speech of the Communications Director of the Institute, Wojciech Ha?ka followed by Minister of Roman Dmowski, reporting on the current state of preparations for the construction of the radio network.
At the moment there is still no response from the Ministry of Regional Development, the European Commission or from the of the Ministry of Interior on the z? 190 million for the construction of a pilot radio communications network.
Further presentations where conducted by representatives of the Police and Fire Service, who agreed that that the creation of a single TETRA communications network is necessary. Currently used systems are outdated and have reached the end of its technical life.
During the coffee break the participants had the opportunity to visit booths party Cassidian and Motorola Solutions. The first company presented the latest TB3 TETRA base station with a dual frequency (for departmental and commercial users) and radio terminals.
Motorola Solutions presented a range of software radios which arises in Krakow Software Centre. After the break, another thematic block was reserved for manufacturers / suppliers of TETRA systems. To demonstrate the advantages of their solutions 4 key companies where invited: Cassidian, Motorola, Selex and Teltronic.
