In July 2012, 3T Communications AG (3T) and Sepura in collaboration with the Prime Contractor, Comintel Sdn Bhd, were awarded the contract for the supply of a complete TETRA system covering four Malaysian International airports - Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu. The combined expertise of Sepura and 3T to deliver an end-to-end critical communications solution is a major factor in securing the project with Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), and reinforces the rationale behind Sepura’s strategic acquisition of 3T.
Comintel, specialist IT and telecoms systems integrator, will implement the solution which includes one 3T eXTRAS TETRA system for each location and a total of over 1,000 market-leading Sepura radio terminals with built-in GPS technology. The combination of 3T’s infrastructure with Sepura’s high-performance STP8000 hand-held terminals and powerful SRG3900 mobile radios will guarantee consistent, highly reliable voice and data communications within this challenging environment. Greater efficiencies will be achieved through the ability to manage centrally all of the airport’s resources.
